Martin Mere has numerous bird hides to include the Ron Barker, Hale, Swanlink, Gladstone and Janet Kear hide and not forgetting the Raines Observatory hide. All are of wooden construction accept this one photographed below of which I found very picturesque.

and an absolute treat - Asian Short-Clawed Otters
An absolute fantastic day was had by all, so much so, that although paying approximately £31 entry to the Mere, we decided to join as members and for an annual fee of £68 which includes entry to all the WWT locations in the UK for two adults and up to and including six grandchildren and we got our £31 refunded for joining. Suffice to say we will be back at Martin Mere many more times during the next twelve months and will hopefully visit other centres around England.
